Sea (Peoples) (be) - Release Show

Sea (Peoples) is a five-member band from Brussels, playing catchy indie pop/rock with perky lyrics. They are releasing their first full album later this year, titled Every Human, Each Device.

If you are following the Belgian indie scene, Sea (Peoples) might ring a bell. The band surprises in 2014 with the home-recorded Danuna EP, leading them to the stages of music contests like De Beloften (2nd place), Rockvonk (finals) and Humo’s Rock Rally (semi-finals), and to festivals like Boomtown and Vijverfestival.

Sea (Peoples) starts as a bunch of teenagers growing up in the same neighborhood in Dilbeek who follow each other to the capital in their twenties. In Brussels, Timo Vantyghem (vocals, composition), Fien Robbe (vocals, keys), Dries Robbe (backings, guitar) and Ben De Greef (bass) are finally joined with a drummer called Engel Peet. She makes the band sound more energetic and groovy, and Sea (Peoples) evolves from cozy dream pop to lively indie rock. By the end of 2022, Sea (Peoples) hits the studio again. The songs are skillfully mixed by Noah Melis and mastered by Uwe Teichert. The result is an exciting mix of up and down tempo songs with a unique sound somewhere in between Alex G’s indie rock and Metronomy’s synth pop. The band sings about social rights for machines, forced small talk, and getting clean from too much wifi.

FR - Mek'Dr'Dr, composé des personnalités électriques de Sara et de Mien, produit un style musical qui vous fera rebondir comme un bâton sauteur. Avec des accroches affûtées et des accords de basse bouillonnants, ils livrent un chaos électrisant qui pourrait bien vous faire voyager dans les années 70.
Le groupe fera vibrer vos tympans et vous fera bouger au son de ses morceaux, même si vous n’en connaissez pas le rythme ! Alors préparez-vous au pire, car le voyage de votre vie commence avec Mek'Dr'Dr ! 

NL - Mek'Dr'Dr, bestaande uit de post-punk-donders Sara en Mien maken muziek die je laat stuiteren als een opgevoerde pogo stick.
Met slagzinnen scherper dan een geslepen kat en baslijnen die je laten sudderen in een pan met hete ajuinen, brengen ze een elektrificerende chaos die je zou kunnen terugslingeren naar de dolle jaren 70 van Delta 5 of the Slits in een gouden jasje.
Ze rammelen met je trommelvliezen alsof het maracas zijn en maken je warm om op de maat te dansen, zelfs als je niet weet wat de maat is!
Bereid je dus maar voor op het ergste, want de rit van je leven start bij Mek'Dr'Dr!!! - en onthoud goed, je hebt nooit genoeg glitters op je dansschoenen!

Schreel Van De Velde (be)

EN - Schreel Van De Velde is a guitar and drums improv-centered duo consisting of Lucas Schreel (Kloothommel, Another Dancer, Schreel Van Isacker) and Casper Van De Velde (Schntzl, Bombataz, Donder). They are happy to present new music they recorded earlier this year. The Brussels-based musicians sound more decisive than ever: the loud became louder, the quiet became quieter, the weird became weirder and the nostalgic became more nostalgic. It feels like the fruit peeled off one of its own shells, getting closer to its heart.

FR - Schreel Van De Velde est un duo d'improvisation à la guitare et à la batterie composé de Lucas Schreel (Kloothommel, Another Dancer, Schreel Van Isacker) et de Casper Van De Velde (Schntzl, Bombataz, Donder). Ils sont heureux de présenter une nouvelle musique qu'ils ont enregistrée au début de l'année. Les musiciens bruxellois semblent plus déterminés que jamais : le bruyant est devenu plus bruyant, le silencieux est devenu plus silencieux, le bizarre est devenu plus bizarre et le nostalgique est devenu plus nostalgique. On a l'impression que le fruit s'est débarrassé d'une de ses propres coquilles, se rapprochant ainsi de son cœur.
