Spencer Clark (us)

Neo-psychedelia/exotica/hypnagogic pop. Spencer Clark has been part of many significant moments in 21st century “fringe” music, as a member of The Skaters (w/ James Ferraro), as  solo performer, label boss and in various cooperations. Spencer Clark has a wide stylistic approach, and an across-the-board interest in different cultural areas. He frequently blows up the walls separating so-called high and low culture.
Spencer Clark’s concerts showcase his singular active keyboard playing style,  supplemented with live electronics. He recently collaborated with Francesco Cavaliere and Sun Araw. He released records on  his own Pacific City Sound Visions, on Discrepant, and on Kraak.

Dolphins into the future (be)

Lieven Martens performs conceptual music that challenges expectations and expands the boundaries of what's possible. Trough experimentation and mistakes he reveals a beauty, a storyline, a fantasy, or some hard fact. Together with Spencer Clark, Lieven Martens has been acknowledged as one of the starters of the New Age revival that took place all along the past decade. Lieven Martens’ live concerts float between field recordings, ambient, sound art and modern composition.
He recently collaborated with Christina Vantzou, M. Sage, and Sugai Ken. He released albums on a.o. the Japanese label Em Records, American label Not Not Fun Records, and the Belgian labels Ultra Eczema and Kraak.

Lieven Martens is well known for his work as Dolphins into the Future in which he was a leading figure in the noise boom of the early 2000s and was associated with Exotica using early synth and electronic music and new age influences. I hope we will hear a lot more of his music on UK Radio in the ensuing years. He really is a major talent.

Eric Frye + SPARQL (us)

Eric Frye and Ryan Woodhall create gleaming cinematic soundscapes and hallucinogenic synthesis.

Eric Frye is an American composer and artist. He is known for his solo performance and installation work - an exploration of the dissociative and psychoactive functions of sound and image. Recently, he premiered audio-visual performances in LA, Vancouver, Tokyo, and New York City at ISSUE Project Room alongside Curtis Roads and Beatriz Ferreyra (Ina GRM).

SPARQL is the solo project of New York-based experimental musician Ryan Woodhall (also of legendary NYC outfits Yellow Tears / Halflings / Red Light District). In a live setting, Ryan incorporates custom software, handmade controllers, and digital synthesis.
