Performensk

FR - Performensk 2022 est la quatrième édition du Festival international des arts performatifs originaire de Minsk, en Belarus, qui, en raison de l'invasion russe actuellement en cours en Ukraine et de la situation politique existante dans et autour de sa ville d'origine, a dû se délocaliser à Bruxelles avec la collaboration de l'Atelier 210 et de Q-O2. Depuis 2018, Performensk a connu une riche histoire avec trois éditions en 2021, 2019 et 2018. Les curateurs de l'édition de cette année, Maria Komarova et David Jarrín Zabala, ont souhaité approfondir sa quête d'œuvres interdisciplinaires qui traversent les frontières entre le théâtre contemporain, la performance, l'art sonore et la musique. Cette édition se concentrera sur la manière dont les pratiques de l'art sonore peuvent devenir de fragiles représentations dramatiques, des actes de courage clownesque ou des ballets mécaniques au bord de l'échec total.

EN - Performensk 2022 is the fourth edition of the International Festival of Performative Arts originally based in Minsk, Belarus, that due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and the current political situation in and around its home city had to relocate to Brussels with the collaboration of Atelier 210 and Q-O2. Since 2018, Performensk has had a rich history of three instalments in 2021, 2019 and 2018. This year’s edition curators Maria Komarova and David Jarrín Zabala have wished to further its quest for  interdisciplinary works that cross boundaries between contemporary theatre, performance, sound art and music. This edition will focus on how sound art practices can become fragile dramatic representations,  acts of clownish courage or mechanical ballet on the verge of total failure.

 

Au programme:
Jeudi 08.12: les activités débuteront avec le duo Papa Pique et Maman Coud, composé des artistes LL de Mars et C de Trogoff, qui explorera à travers des éléments acousmatiques et des interventions instrumentales l'abîme qui sépare la spontanéité les tactiques d'écoute précautionneuses. Ils seront suivis par Cassé qui, avec la légèreté de ses chansons et la subtilité de ses instruments domestiques, nous fera penser que Kleenex et le Y Pants ont deux sœurs perdues dans les rues de Drogenbos. Le Trio Alien conclura la soirée avec une performance électrique qui entremêle la présence et l'absence de son, comme quelqu'un qui allume et éteint les lumières, à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur du syndicat du rêve.

On the program:
On December 8th the activities will begin with the duo Papa Pique et Maman Coud, composed of artists LL de Mars and C de Trogoff, who will explore through acousmatic elements and instrumental interventions the abyss that separates spontaneity from precautionary listening tactics They will be followed by Cassé who, with the lightness of their songs and the subtlety of their domestic instruments, will make us think that Kleenex and the Y Pants have two sisters lost in the streets of Drogenbos. The Trio Alien will conclude the evening with an electric performance that interweaves the presence and absence of sound, like someone turning the lights on and off, inside and outside the dream syndicate.

 

Vendredi 09.12:   Performensk propose de nouveaux modes de résistance, des hypothèses pour survivre dans la mutabilité de notre époque. The Great Circus of Failure, à travers une expérience interactive avec des interfaces de jeux vidéo, amènera le public à célébrer l'errance et la fluidité. Sylvie Boutellier et Damien Leblois déploieront dans l'espace les sensations et les joies de leurs voyages chimiques dans les méandres des tissus nerveux électroniques. Micha Goldberg nous rappellera que le mot de passe de chaque artiste ne peut être qu'un "oui" ludique à un avenir post-robotique qui cherche ses solutions dans le relief flou d'un pixel.

On December 9th, Performensk proposes new modes of resistance, hypotheses for surviving in the mutability of our times. The Great Circus of Failure, through an interactive experience with video game interfaces, will lead the audience to celebrate wandering and fluidity. Sylvie Boutellier and Damien Leblois will expand in space the sensations and joys of their chemical journeys in the meanders of electronic nervous tissues. The audience will be taken to a microscopic travel into the depths of the groove of a vinyl record. Micha Goldberg with a collective will end an evening, reminding us that each performer's password can only be a playful 'yes' to a post-robotic future that seeks its solutions in the hazy relief of a pixel. 

Samedi 10.12, le festival consacre la journée à la transhumance, à la perte de repères et à la déconnexion. Catherine Hershey et Jonas Chéreau nous feront partager leurs merveilleux voyages en tant que songsters dans des espaces réverbérants, Viktoryia Hrabennikava parlera des relations humaines et des identités de genre fluides en superposant ses enregistrements de terrain sur Internet et ses propres expériences de vie. La composition quadriphonique "It was silence" d'Anna Khvyl est un fragment de ses journaux sonores et un carnet de voyage entre son Ukraine natale et les Pays-Bas ; elle sera suivie d'un échange décrivant son parcours. Michal Kindernay attirera notre attention sur le monde des agents nomades non-humains représentés par des éléments aquatiques, en passant par les structures industrielles jusqu’aux profondeurs de l'océan. Bryozone, du magnifique label ukrainien "Sistema", proposera une musique axée sur les cadences régulières et un chant nébuleux. La soirée s'achèvera avec le collectif DJ Poxcat avec ses vibrations groovy et joyeuses bien connues du public bruxellois.

On December 10th, the festival devotes the day to transhumance, loss of reference points and disconnectedness, Catherine Hershey and Jonas Chéreau will share with us their wondrous journeys as songsters in reverberant spaces, Viktoryia Hrabennikava will talk about human relationships and fluid gender identities by superposing her internet recollections and her own life experiences. The quadraphonic composition “It was silence” by Anna Khvyl is a fragment of her sound diaries and a travelogue between her natal Ukraine and the Netherlands and it will be followed by a talk describing its background. Michal Kindernay will draw our attention to the world of nomadic non-human agents represented by aquatic elements, shifting from industrial structures to the depths of the ocean. Bryozone, from the magnificent Ukrainian label ‘Sistema’ will offer music focused on regular cadence and nebulous singing. The evening will end with the local DJ stars Poxcat with their characteristic take on groovy and happy dancing vibes. 

Dimanche 11.12, Performensk collabore avec Q-O2 à la après-midi programme de série Second Sundays avec deux séances d'écoute et des causerie d'artistes de Nikolay Karabinovich et Aliens. La dernière soirée du festival se termine dans le cadre intime du Au Kalme avec les concerts de la performeuse sonore Mariana Carvalho, du chanteur-compositeur Fornicio Rivera et une surprise brève mais grandiose concoctée par l’équipe du festival.

On December 11th, Performensk collaborates with Q-O2 and presents an afternoon program as part of Second Sundays series with two listening sessions and talks by  Nikolay Karabinovich end Aliens. The last evening of the festival ends in an intimate setting in Au Kalme with the concerts by the sound performer Mariana CarvalhoMariana Carvalho, the singer songwriter Fornicio Rivera and a brief but grandiose surprise by the festival curator team.
